Bottom Line Up Front: Your privacy is our highest priority. OnDevice — Video Enhancer uses a 100% on-device processing architecture. Your footage is never sent to a server. All frame decoding, neural inference, and video encoding run strictly on your device's local hardware (CPU, GPU, NPU).
1. Information We Access and How It Is Used
A. Video & Image Files (Local Device Storage)
- Permissions Requested:
READ_MEDIA_VIDEO,READ_MEDIA_IMAGES(and on older Android versions,READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE). - Purpose: To allow you to browse and select your own videos or images from your gallery for enhancement, deblurring, or upscaling.
- 100% Local On-Device AI Processing: All frame decoding, super-resolution neural network inference (using local ONNX Runtime Mobile models), and video re-encoding are performed entirely on your device's local hardware (CPU, GPU, NPU).
- No Cloud Uploads: We do not upload, copy, stream, or transmit your videos, images, or audio to any cloud server, external service, or third-party database. Your footage is never sent to a server. Your media files remain exclusively on your device.
B. Foreground Services and Notifications
- Permissions Requested:
FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PROCESSING,POST_NOTIFICATIONS,WAKE_LOCK. - Purpose: Video upscaling is computationally demanding and can take several minutes. A foreground service with a real-time progress notification is used to prevent the Android OS from terminating the process while you multitask. No personal data or user activity is tracked by this service.
2. Third-Party Services & Automated Data Collection
A. Google AdMob (Google LLC)
We display advertisements (banners, interstitials, and rewarded ads) provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect anonymous device and usage data including Advertising ID (GAID), IP address (for geographic region detection), device make/model/OS version, and ad interaction metrics. You can manage your Advertising ID in Settings > Google > Ads.
B. Google Play In-App Billing (Google LLC)
If you purchase the "Pro Ad-Free Lifetime" in-app product, the financial transaction is handled exclusively by Google Play Billing. We do not have access to, collect, or store your payment card numbers, bank details, or billing addresses.
3. Data Retention and Temporary Cache
During video upscaling, temporary intermediate frame cache files are created in your application's isolated internal cache directory (context.cacheDir). These temporary files are deleted automatically when processing finishes or when you cancel the job. You can also manually clear cache via Settings > Apps > OnDevice — Video Enhancer > Storage > Clear Cache.
4. Children's Privacy
Our application is not directed toward children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
5. Security
Because all media processing is executed locally on your device without communicating with external storage servers, your private photos and videos are safe from unauthorized cloud access, server breaches, or interception. Your footage is never sent to a server.
